Three checks. One useful next step.
- Check the sender. Look beyond the display name. Inspect the full email address and the destination of any link. An official-looking logo or your correct USDOT number does not establish who sent a message.
- Check your actual record. Open the official Motus website at motus.dot.gov independently. Use FMCSA’s authority-status instructions to check the application and authority history. If a notice is unclear, contact FMCSA at 800-832-5660.
- Check the work and price. Ask what is required, who will perform it and which charges are government fees. A private service offer is not itself a government notice or a required purchase.

A number is not the whole story.
USDOT registration: your company record
A USDOT number identifies the registered entity. An active USDOT record alone does not establish active interstate for-hire operating authority. The authority required depends on your operations.
MC application pending: a decision is still outstanding
An MC/docket number or a notice published in the FMCSA Register does not by itself authorize operations. “Pending,” “Published to FMCSA Register” and “Active” describe different things; check the actual authority status and event.
Authority active: confirm the right authority and current record
Check the specific authority type and current status through official FMCSA channels. A daily data file or an earlier active event is not a substitute for an individual current-status check or the other requirements that apply to your operation.
Keep control of your identity and records.
THS never requests your Login.gov password or verification codes. You manage your own Motus identity and any formal provider designation, with final review and submission retained by the carrier. A THS inquiry is not an FMCSA filing or authorization in Motus.
Use basic business and contact information in the inquiry. Do not send identity documents, banking details or confidential records through public comments, chat or this initial form.
Start with one clear request.
- Describe the registration or update. Include the state and any known deadline. Share basic business information only.
- Review the proposed scope. THS explains the work, required records, responsibilities and fees.
- Confirm your next step. When an engagement is approved, your THS contact explains the first task and the appropriate channel for records.
Our FMCSA Motus application
Current status: under review. THS’s Transportation Service Provider application has been received by FMCSA and is under review. Registration approval has not been confirmed. Status checked September 25, 2026.
A Transportation Service Provider role in Motus concerns third-party registration support. It does not mean THS operates your trucks, holds your carrier authority or is endorsed by FMCSA. Any filing work remains subject to the required authorization and confirmed capability.
The THS client dashboard is for THS service requests and assigned work. It is separate from FMCSA’s Motus company account. Creating a THS account or sending an inquiry does not register your company with the government.
Know which fees you are paying.
THS service charges are separate from government filing fees. Your written scope identifies THS’s work, its price and any applicable government or third-party charges before paid work begins. An inquiry is free.
THS does not guarantee registration approval or agency processing times. Insurance, process-agent and state-specific filings require their own confirmed arrangements; they are not implied by THS’s pending TSP application.
